Maternal Damnation

when was the last time you saw a gun in a daycare center?

I've always been under the impression that the main reason most SAHMs are SAHMs is because they don't want strangers watching their children. Oh faith and begorrah, I take care of my OWN kids, I don't let some STRANGER get their grubby little paws on my child!

So why, when a situation arises where it might be convenient to not have to bring your child to a meeting or an appointment, would you decide it's okay to have a neighbor to whom you haven't spoken in over two months watch your kid for a few hours?
