At least I can say I never decided on a parenting style by emulating a TELEVISION CHARACTER.
(and one who, I think, almost had an extramarital affair.)
The slogan for Kix cereal. "Kid Tested, Mother Approved."
Because, as we all know, dads do not know (or care) about their kids' food intake.
Another thing that bugs me is that the "(Fill-In-The-Blank) Parenting" labels that certain people slap on themselves always seem to have such not-so-nice antonyms.
Antonyms for "attachment" - revulsion, repulsion, unconcern
Antonyms for "instinctive" - unnatural (Interesting, though that [a] this is the one with the most "negativish" synonyms, and [b] it is the one I could most apply to myself in my own way)
Antonyms for "conscientious" - slack, slipshod, careless, irresponsible.
